Nynke Blömer

Associate Programme Officer | Species

Nynke’s work within the Species Programme focuses on supporting species-related conventions and agreements, specifically in relation to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations, and the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR).

Previous experience & expertise

Prior to joining UNEP-WCMC, Nynke worked on various conservation and research projects, including reforestation and plant conservation on Bonaire, investigating the sustainability of the Welsh moss trade, and ex-situ plant conservation at Hortus botanicus Leiden, the Leiden University botanic garden. Nynke has an MSc in Sustainable Forest and Nature Management from Bangor University and Copenhagen University, and a BSc in Liberal Arts and Sciences focussing on Sustainability and Global Challenges from Leiden University College the Hague.
