Jennifer is Administrator for the Informatics and Species Programmes. She provides administrative and organisational support to the programme teams. This involves supporting the project leaders in the preparation of administrative documents, financial reports and project management plans. She also assists with the organisation and delivery of meetings, workshops and conferences.
Jennifer worked at NIAB (National Institute of Agricultural Botany, Cambridge) for six years, providing project and research support, including as Project Co-ordinator for the Defra Sustainable Intensification Research Platform (SIP), working with 30 partner organisations to explore maintaining or increasing agricultural productivity whilst improving environmental and social outcomes. As well as organising science meetings and conferences for the SIP, Jennifer supported the PGR Secure – EUCARPIA international conference on capturing wild relative and landrace diversity for crop improvement. She holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham on the conservation of plant genetic resources and an MSc in plant taxonomy from the University of Reading. Jennifer started work as an ecologist at the Somerset and Hampshire Local Biological Records Centres, where she was involved in habitat mapping in GIS, botanical surveys and management of species and protected site data.
