Anna oversees a portfolio of work related to indicator development and use for decision making. Most notably, Anna coordinates the Secretariat of the Biodiversity Indicators Partnership, a global initiative to promote the development and delivery of biodiversity indicators for use by the CBD and other biodiversity-related Conventions, for IPBES, for reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals, and for use by national and regional governments. As well as coordinating and communicating global biodiversity indicators, Anna has experience in supporting countries to produce their own national indicators which respond to their specific policy needs.
Before joining UNEP-WCMC in 2008, Anna worked at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) coordinating marine fish Red List assessments. Anna has a MSC in Marine Environmental Protection and a BSc in Marine Biology.
Anna coordinates the CBD-mandated Biodiversity Indicators Partnership, a the global initiative to promote and coordinate development and delivery of biodiversity indicators in support of the CBD, Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEA), IPBES, the SDGs, national and regional governments and a range of other sectors.
The Partnership brings together over fifty organizations working internationally on indicator development to provide the most comprehensive information on biodiversity trends.
