Dominic provides oversight and coordination of fundraising, partnerships and communications efforts in the European Union. This is a key role in external engagement, with a particular emphasis on client care, new partnership development, diversification of income streams and unlocking access to additional financial resources. This new post provides an opportunity to build new relationships with partner organisations and funders, as well as nurture existing ones, and to improve the visibility of UNEP-WCMC in Europe.
Dominic has over 17 years’ experience in EU institutional fund raising, EU relationship management and outreach, in institutional grant management, and growing and building relations with the EU institutions, governments and multi-lateral organisations in Brussels and around the world.
Before joining UNEP-WCMC Dominic worked for the UN for six years, representing the UN in Brussels with EU Commission officials up to Director-General level, meeting with EU MPs and speaking at EU Council and parliamentary bodies; he briefed ambassadors, EU RELEX and DEVCO staff and worked with Commissioner’s cabinets and ministers in European governments. He has also worked for and networked with civil society organisations.
Prior to that, he worked as a donor in the British government (DFID), advising and briefing directors, preparing funding submissions, drafting policy and writing correspondence for ministers.
